How safe is it to apply Concrete Guard? Print E-mail
Concrete Guard™ is a very safe product to use as it is water based and contains no flammable solvents such as Xylene (which is quite nasty stuff in its own right).

As a matter of common sense safety precautions, you would be recommended to wear eye protection in case of any splashes.  While it is highly doubtful that you would receive a splash to the eyes, it is better to be safe than sorry.

If contact with eyes should occour, immediately flush with running water for at least 15 minutes.

A full Material Safety Data Sheet is available from the downloads section of this site.

On a lighter note, the only other thing to be worried about is getting Concrete Guard on your fingernails as the wet look makes you look like you've had your nails 'done' with nail polish.  Not quite the blokey look that a tradesman would want.  :-)  The good thing is that it does come off.
